The Philadelphia High Chest, a superior example of American Rococo style, is adapted in this version to create a more relaxed style. Some carved elements, reflecting the formality of design, have been eliminated. The lower, center drawer, heavily hand carved on the original, is replaced with a matching drawer front to create uniformity. The finials and the cartouche have been eliminated on the top but the fancy carved pediment remains, as well as the reeded, corner columns. The result is simplicity of a classic form with minimal embellishments of design. The high style of the two pulls and three different knobs in the Louis XV style, are featured in Antique Nickel to push this classic design forward.
