Welcome to the other mid-century modern. Mid-century Modern was not without opulence, at least not for Van Day Truex. He lived his life with splendor and encouraged all of America to do the same. Our version of a rare and much sought-after Slipper Chair, originally made for Grosfeld House, is here brought back to thrilling life for the current generation of tastemakers. Inspired by an original design for Grosfeld House, circa 1952. Exposed Walnut legs. Fully upholstered seat and back with decorative welt trim.

Although an Architect by formal education and training, Scott Himmel describes himself as an interior architect, interior designer and furniture designer. He has been the Principal of his own firm for over 40 years and is always looking to keep freshly abreast about all manner of the interior design industry. Himmel is the mastermind behind Truex and his brilliant interpretation of post-WWII American interior designers is evident throughout the collection.
